Ademar Eggert is a participant in the Rondônia government project, Consultec Leite, which enhances milk production in the state
Four years ago, there was a milk shortage for the yogurt agroindustry of farmer Ademar Eggert and his family. The cows could only produce 8 to 12 liters of milk daily, leading to frantic purchases from neighbors to keep up production. Now, with support from the Rondônia government, they have cows producing up to 22 liters each. This surplus not only satisfies their agroindustry needs but also allows for sales in nearby towns, amounting to 3,600 to 4,000 liters of milk per month. Daily production has increased from 45 to 160 liters.
Governor Marcos Rocha of Rondônia emphasized the government’s commitment to boosting milk production in the state. Achievements like Ademar’s farm highlight the progress made, but the search for innovation remains a priority. Notably, this topic was part of a recent government mission to Israel, where cows can produce up to 80 liters of milk per day.

“The Rondônia government values the role of techniques and technologies in transforming the lives of producers and food production in the state. We are committed to strategic initiatives that support dairy farming. Rondônia is the largest milk producer in the North Region and the seventh-largest in Brazil. We are focused on high productivity to enhance the quality of life and development in the state,” the governor stated.
SUPPORT INITIATIVES
This May, the state government launched the Rondônia State Milk Production Contest (ConLeite), highlighting the importance of this productive chain. The Rufião Móvel project is also active in dairy farms, concentrating on the gynecological health of breeding cows using ultrasonography technology and providing technical consultancy to aid producers in herd management and nutrition through Consultec Leite.
A MODEL FARM
Ademar Eggert exemplifies a success story through the government’s Consultec Leite program, developed by Emater-RO (the Agricultural Technical Assistance and Rural Extension Agency of Rondônia). His farm, located in Alta Floresta d’Oeste, serves as a demonstrative unit for the program, a model for replication across the state.

Ademar diligently keeps track of his operations in the field notebook provided by Consultec Leite, noting details like number of animals, milking schedules, daily production, weather, irrigation, and other observations that assist Emater-RO veterinarian Natália Lira in making accurate diagnoses and developing effective plans tailored to each farm.
With improved irrigation and pasture fertilization guided by Emater-RO, the cows now enjoy better nutrition and produce more milk, transforming previously compacted soil into productive land. “We haven’t operated in the red since—only in the blue, the color of the sky that blesses our production, moving steadily towards progress every day,” stated the farmer.
A NEW CHAPTER
The Consultec Leite notebook remains a vital tool for Ademar, symbolizing his journey from hardship to a life filled with accomplishments and quality. His office, nestled on his home’s porch, offers a lovely view of the adjacent agroindustry and pasture, complete with vibrant flowers planted for his wife, who has a passion for them. She plays a key role in creating delicious yogurts.

Ademar Eggert, originally from Espírito Santo, has a special connection to Rondônia, the land that embraced his family and offered them better opportunities. At Chácara da Grota, he built a wonderful home for his wife and two children, creating a joyful life together.
In addition to dairy farming with 23 cows and a bull, and a dairy operation supported by a yogurt maker donated by the Rondônia government, the farm is rich with citrus, coffee, chickens, pigs, and fish—initiatives backed by Emater-RO. “We had little when we moved from Espírito Santo over 30 years ago, but coming to Rondônia has been a blessing. Thanks to this land, the support we received, and our hard work, we are in a good position now,” the farmer expressed.
NEW EMATER OFFICE
A recent achievement for both Ademar’s family and all producers in Alta Floresta d’Oeste was the opening of the new Emater-RO office. This modern, accessible structure enhances the service provided to farmers. Located at Avenida São Paulo, nº 4.106, Bairro Santa Felicidade, the office includes a welcoming reception area, spacious consultation rooms for producers, an auditorium, and climate-controlled spaces for meetings, highlighting the Rondônia government’s commitment to its agricultural community.
