On Easter Sunday and during the Tiradentes holiday, visitors to the Espaço Alternativo will have the chance to enjoy two more sessions of the Rondônia Music Festival, known as Rondofest. The performances for the interpretation category will take place on the 20th, followed by the composition category on the 21st. Each of these two days will feature performances from which one finalist will be selected in each category, as well as two participants who will contribute to the ranking for access to the finals.
Rondofest serves as the qualifying phase of the Cultural Registration Project, initiated by the Center for Studies and Research in Law and Justice (CEP-DJ) to aid Rondônia musicians in the registration, protection, defense, and management of their copyright and phonographic rights. This project receives funding from the Rondônia State Cultural Foundation (Funcer), supported by a parliamentary amendment proposed by state representative Alan Queiroz.
Activities will kick off at 5:00 PM on both the 20th and 21st. Following this, the Zona Leste will host Rondofest on the 26th. The grand finale will be held on June 14 at the Palácio das Artes, featuring renowned national artists. Edson Lustosa, president of the CEP-DJ, oversees the directorship of Rondofest, with Wellington Santos handling executive direction and Frank Maia in charge of sound.
ZONA SUL
The Zona Sul eliminatory round took place on Saturday, June 12, at Campo do Três e Meio. Once again hosted by Edson Lustosa and Marcos Magalhães, the event showcased around thirty participants. In the interpretation category, Sílvia Helena claimed first place, while Hercílio Torres’ song “O fim a espera,” performed with the Naviola Banda, won in the composition category.
The performers advancing to the finals ranking included interpreters Ellen Moja and Ana Caroline. In addition, the compositions “Passarinho” by Vanessa and Banda, and “Me sinto solta” by Ellen Moja were also selected. Participants unanimously praised the organizing committee for their efforts in maintaining the artistic quality and transparency of the evaluation process. The event was streamed live on the Rondofest Facebook page.
