The Public Ministry of Rondônia (MPRO), represented by the Deputy Attorney General for Administrative Justice, Marcelo Lima de Oliveira, took part in the inauguration ceremony of the Public Defender-General, Victor Hugo de Sousa Lima, who has been reappointed for the 2025-2027 term.
Victor Hugo de Sousa Lima begins another term leading the Public Defender’s Office of the State of Rondônia (DPE-RO), a crucial institution for the safeguarding of rights and the enhancement of citizenship in the region.
The Deputy Attorney General highlighted that the reappointed Public Defender embodies qualities such as a commitment to institutional autonomy, a focus on structural improvement, steadfastness, purpose, dedication, courage, and discretion.
Profile of the appointee:
Victor Hugo is a graduate in Law from the Centro Universitário de Brasília and holds a Master’s degree in Legal Sciences from the Universidade do Vale do Itajaí. He joined the Public Defender’s Office on March 10, 2014, after passing the III Competitive Examination for the position of Substitute Public Defender.
He has worked in various regional offices, including Guajará-Mirim, Jaru, and Ariquemes, and was later promoted to Porto Velho. His previous roles include Coordinator of the Ariquemes office, Coordinator of the Criminal Division in Porto Velho, Secretary-General of the Superior Council, and Deputy Corregidor. He currently serves as the Public Defender-General of the State.
