A man was arrested by the Federal Police in Santa Luzia D’Oeste (RO) while attempting to pick up a package containing counterfeit bills at a postal agency in the city. The arrest took place this week following an investigation based on police intelligence.

According to the Federal Police, agents spotted a suspicious shipment believed to contain counterfeit currency. The package was monitored throughout its journey until the suspect picked it up. As he received the envelope, the authorities carried out the arrest.

The package contained 29 counterfeit R$ 50 bills and 6 R$ 100 bills, totaling R$ 2,050 in fake notes. During interrogation, the suspect stated that he had acquired the money through a transaction initiated on social media after seeing a sponsored video offering illegal material.
