OAB Rondônia realiza evento sobre os direitos das vítimas de trânsito e a responsabilidade do poder público | Tudo Rondônia

A Ordem dos Advogados do Brasil – Seccional Rondônia (OAB RO), through its Traffic and Transport Law Commission, will host the event “Maio Amarelo: Rights of Traffic Accident Victims and Public Responsibility” on Wednesday, May 15th, in recognition of the national campaign promoting traffic safety awareness.

The event will begin at 2 PM and will be held in a hybrid format, allowing for in-person attendance at OAB Rondônia’s headquarters in Porto Velho, as well as online participation. It is aimed at attorneys, students, interns, and the general public. Attendance is free, and participants will receive a certificate for 3 complementary hours.

This activity invites reflection on the legal response to traffic accidents, the rights of victims, and the State’s role in preventing incidents and compensating damages. Discussions will also cover topics such as the civil liability of public entities, road maintenance, and the promotion of effective public policies.

Eduardo Gomes dos Santos Rocha, an attorney and member of the Commission who is organizing the event, emphasizes the significance of the topic:

“Discussing the rights of victims acknowledges the direct impact of traffic on individuals’ dignity. The legal profession plays a crucial role in this process, and events like this strengthen our advocacy for citizenship.”

This initiative is part of the Maio Amarelo movement, which aims to raise public awareness about the high rates of traffic-related deaths and injuries. The event’s motto is: “Life on the road is valued when citizens and public authorities each do their part.”
